The Crazy Piano Guy

On my way home, I decided to get off on the West 4th St. Subway exit and walk to Washington Square Park. The night was simply too beautiful to go home. It was a pleasant surprise to find this gentleman playing a piano which he personally rolled through the streets of New York City to get it there. His name is Colin Huggins. He’s known as “The crazy piano guy”. www.thecrazypianoguy.com

A great video that summarizes the incredible true story of a group of boys from Monterrey, Mexico, who became the first non-U.S. team to win the Little League World Series in 1957. And they did it with a perfect game!

Alexander who?

That was my initial reaction upon hearing of the death of fashion designer Alexander McQueen. Like most people who aren’t involved in the world of fashion, I had no idea who he was.

Before reading of his untimely death on the BBC News website, the only other McQueen I had ever heard of was Steve McQueen, the legendary actor and appropriately dubbed, “king of cool.” And he was cool. And badass, too.

To paraphrase the song from the movie “Shaft,” that Steve McQueen was one badass Mother… shut your mouth!….Man, I’m talking about Steve McQueen!

So, who the heck was this “new” McQueen?

Facebooking!

So, it all started with a simple status update on facebook and what ensued was a pretty crazy exchange:

Bobby Plasencia- Great! I just sent a friend request to my 6 year old cousin! What was I thinking? Now I’m gonna have to watch my language and the crazy pics. I hope she doesn’t accept. What is she doing on facebook anyway!?!? Don’t you have to be like 18 or something?

Dearest Wilda,

You’re brilliant!

If you believed in marriage, I would apply for the position of husband and name our first child after you, even if he was a boy.

PS. Has there ever been a boy named Wilda? I wonder.

Mary Alton as Ariel & Bobby Plasencia as Caliban

That's me as Caliban, yo!

A very incisive blog that talks about the Independent Shakespeare Company’s production of The Tempest in LA. I played Caliban in the production.
